Coming to Montréal from the US with your dog: border checklist
Bringing your dog from the United States for a weekend in Montréal? Here is what to have ready at the border, going and coming back.

Entering Canada
Dogs 3 months and older need a valid rabies vaccination certificate signed by a vet. It should describe your dog and show the vaccine and its expiry date.
Returning to the United States
Your dog needs to be at least 6 months old, have a microchip and travel with a CDC Dog Import Form receipt. You fill in the form online before you travel.
Check before you leave
Rules can change. A few weeks before your trip, check the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (inspection.canada.ca) and the CDC (cdc.gov), and keep your dog’s vet records with you.
When you get to Montréal
Ruby Café MTL is at 3824 Rue Saint-Patrick, with free parking on site. Pay by card: cards from the US work, and your bank converts the bill from Canadian dollars. Our menu is in English and French.
Open Friday to Sunday, 10 AM to 3 PM, at 3824 Rue Saint-Patrick. Dogs welcome at the table.
